It's still so complicated to see people's entire following lists and follow folks from different instances. Feels like it's probably one of the big obstacles to folks actually using Mastodon even after they've set up their accounts. I'm sure many smart people are working on this... anyone know if any of the new clients/apps address this?

For instance, I'm on mastodon.social and a search I just ran returned an account on hachyderm.io.
Idk how far-reaching this is – maybe it just queries some of the major instances? Or maybe users that have appeared in the local or federated timelines.

I'm using Elk on my laptop and it only shows accounts from my instance, with a note at the bottom saying to go to the original account to see the rest. :-(
