@billstatler fwiw I was able to get POP3 working on Pegasus Mail. I have MFA set up on my Google account and set a custom app password.

IMAP also seemed to work. However both POP3 and IMAP4 have to be enabled in browser based Gmail beforehand, and from what I understand they are disabled for new users by default.

Google would much prefer everyone used *their* Gmail client or the browser-based client because they can sell advertising through it.
