It doesn't abstract away the things it should, it abstracts away a bunch of stuff it shouldn't, using names that clarify nothing, and each abstraction apart from being sliced wrong also has too many layers and the layers leak like sieves anyway.

@clacke The assumption that it was written by past you is of course only fair because it's based on the principle that one is much more likely to get heart palpitations from moderately bad code when they were the author, while code written by somebody else will have to be really bad to cause them.
