The European balance of power is challenged from many sides. Putins plan to destabilise the European Union is in full force. France will vote today. Open hate against Germany and Germans is popping up everywhere. European solidarity and unity is shrinking.

Thatβs not defending Germany. Thatβs a factual assessment of a really bad situation.

Not helpful. Itβs destructive, IMHO.

IMHO it became really clear with Brexit and moved forward into the pandemic and the first weeks of the war. But the pendulum might have reached a maximum and could swing back - thatβs my fear.

I cheer for that and applaud it! Thatβs exactly what I wanted it to to and it responded.

I prefer to clearly point out the problems I see and offer solutions too. A fact based assessment of the current situation might look like doom and gloom, but I am an optimist. My hope is that we come out of this with a stronger Europe. But we need to do the work for that.
