   We've received several reports of errors in CryptPad when using the AdGuard extension for Firefox.

   If you are using this extension we recommend uninstalling it immediately and replacing it with another reputable adblocker like uBlock Origin or uMatrix.

     @cryptpad uMatrix is abandoned though... (uBO's advanced user mode replaces its essential features)

     We deployed an update to cryptpad.fr yesterday which introduced a test that runs while the page is loading. It tries to simulate some malicious behaviour, and aborts loading if that simulation is not blocked by some other security features we've enabled.

     What we learned is that AdGuard intercepts and rewrites the rules which are intended to block unsafe code. It's unclear whether the AdGuard devs intended for this effect, but there are much better, safer ways to block ads.
