@feditips if people gather around such a project I can lend a hand in consulting about conformance to the ActivityPub spec, or technical support if Golang is chosen as a development language.

Those protocols are decades old, probably all the debates raged before our time on the internet. :P
Also see how many RFCs and XEPs exist about XMPP to realize just how many different opinions there are about it. :D

It’s pretty clear that , when you can have different opinion on the protocol, after the protocol is “standardized”, we have a failure somewhere.
Nobody has different opinions on SMTP , SIP, XMPP….
Waiting for a simplified AP 2.0.
