This is a Road Sign.
Can you guess what it means?

Fitheach (fitheach@mstdn.io)'s status on Saturday, 12-Mar-2022 10:42:10 UTC Fitheach As many of you correctly guessed, the sign warns of a "sleeping policeman" on the road, AKA, a speed bump. Speed bumps are raised sections on the road surface, designed to force drivers to reduce their speed.
This sign is on a private road. The road leads to one of the regular forest walks I do with Gruoch.

Yes. Such occurrences are very common in the UK. πSanta Claes πΈπͺππ°π likes this. -

Mind you, I assume knowing the sign would be part of licensing in that area. -
Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UK (vfrmedia@social.tchncs.de)'s status on Monday, 14-Mar-2022 06:48:48 UTC Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UK its not an official sign, the one we get taught to look out for is like this - you usually only get them around schools - sometimes but not always with a 20mph (32 km/h) limit

I would have hit my head on the roof of the car!
Ours our less whimsical, or, in this case I dare say, cryptic.

Both may be cryptic to foreigners π I remember driving in the Netherlands, not very familiar with the language. I was still trying to figure out what "Let Op! Drempels!" could mean while my exhaust pipe was ripped off... πSanta Claes πΈπͺππ°π likes this. -

It obviously is a warning of cyclops burglar taking a post-prandial nap after eating a baby stegosaurus.Santa Claes πΈπͺππ°π likes this. -
Christian Meyer (chbmeyer@mastodon.social)'s status on Monday, 14-Mar-2022 06:50:24 UTC Christian Meyer @fitheach as a german I never heared about it, I even couldn't imagine the meaning oft it. But last year I met someone from hungary who used the word "sleeping policemen" for the road bumps, too. :) So now I know. π
