Watching my mom* use her first smartphone yesterday reinforces how nothing about the things are intuitive nor necessarily easy, how difficult it is to to attempt to describe how to navigate ("push the rounded square thing"), how finicky the touch input can be, and how difficult to simultaneously hold and operate it can be for somebody with mild arthritis in their hands.

* A person whose been comfortably using and troubleshooting computers for years, from DOS through Windows 10.
