as I pointed out replying to my own thread (I suspect the reply hasn’t federated nearly as widely as the OP), individual action isn’t sufficient - there’s so many structural problems that need to be fixed - but it’s absolutely necessary.
(and abolishing capitalism - which won’t happen passively, “late stage capitalism” is really just early stage feudalism, and isn’t late stage capitalism at all - won’t even solve the problem, look at how many of those oil companies are state-owned. yes, you can argue that that’s state capitalism, but once you scale beyond what a direct democracy can reasonably handle (which is not very much at all), structures like state capitalism are quite simply going to happen.)
