@obsolete29 depends how close to the Russian border one lives. Lithuania, Latvia, Poland all are very seriously concerned, and sending some arms to Ukraine. Germany seems somewhat internally conflicted, there's the Nord Stream 2 question hanging over all this. UK has sent some arms to Ukraine already. France... not sure. Croatia said they don't think Nato should get involved at all.
@rysiek there's more than one Russia/Ukraine news?! lol
The news I read seems to indicate that Russia is threatening invasion of Ukraine by massing 100k troops on the Ukraine border. Putin wants concessions about NATO expansion etc. Do Europeans view this as the OMG crisis that my news seems to say it is? Do Europeans want to do anything about it?
@obsolete29@rysiek Most countries in Europe are equipping the Ukraine with light defensive technology and threatening sanctions. So, not silent on the issue.
But I do feel the language in the media is off. Putin is not really "planning to invade" if he has invaded already and is now occupying Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk at least to some extent.
@mplammers I lost the link but iirc Biden at one point used the phrase "planning to further invade", and of course that was controversial, but also accurate. @obsolete29@rysiek
The strategy in major news outlets has been for decades to demonize Russia. Most people fall for it.
Media has been moot about the huge NATO operations along Russian borders in recent years.
Some dissenting voices mention that the US has been causing trouble starting by inviting Ukraine into NATO and other provocations. But you don't hear much on this.
