This only needs to be, for example, access to a trained interpreter at a medical appointment, rather than having your child relay your cancer diagnosis to you.

Token (coin@asimon.org)'s status on Friday, 28-Jan-2022 13:25:59 UTC Token Not gonna lie, sounds like a waste of tax payer money for a rather small minority of people (which I am empathetic to their woes, mind you) but this is just doesn't seem economically viable. There must be other ways to make public services more friendly to deaf people without forcing them all to learn the BSL. -

This has all come to a head in the age of Covid with many live public briefings not interpreted, so having to wait for secondary reporting

That BSL Bill seems to just be for things like official communications from the government.
