   Perks of having four black cats and wearing a lot of black clothing: while distracted, and out of the corner of your eye, everything looks like a cat.

   Absentmindedly reach to pet your furry hat hanging on the stair railing while reading the post. Reach out with your foot to toefondle the chin of your fluffy black sweater. Reach your hand down into an empty shadow in the corner of the room, while your actual cat watches you in confusion from the sofa.

     Is that darkness on the far corner of the bed a small friend, or just pants? You don't want to look away from the thing you're reading, so just go "Ch-ch-ch" towards it and see if it moves.
