Santa Claes πΈπͺππ°π (clacke@libranet.de)'s status on Monday, 17-Jan-2022 23:51:55 UTC Santa Claes πΈπͺππ°π As twitit.gq is (temporarily?) down in the DNS of the network I'm on I started looking at alternatives.
github.com/benbusby/farside is a general-purpose redirector that supports not only nitter, but also invidious, libreddit etc.-

Replace twitter.com with farside.link/nitter and get e.g. farside.link/nitter/clacke/sta⦠which will take you directly to that tweet on some public nitter instance that is currently responding. -

Replace youtube.com or youtu.be with farside.link/invidious, e.g. farside.link/invidious/watch?v⦠and it'll take you to that video on a working Invidious instance.
That's great! twitit.gq solved this for nitter, but for e.g. invidious there's otherwise only redirect.invidious.io/ and it doesn't bring you directly to an instance, it provides a page of links to instances for you to click. -

Santa Claes πΈπͺππ°π (clacke@libranet.de)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Jan-2022 01:31:23 UTC Santa Claes πΈπͺππ°π Nope. Privacy Redirect addon doesn't support service links with a subdirectory, it goes to the root of the host. Time to file an issue. -

I havent played with it for a while, but could you redirect this with pi-hole maybe ? -

Thomas (tfb@functional.cafe)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Jan-2022 15:08:09 UTC Thomas @clacke oh nice! I'd stopped linking to invidious because the instances were always broken, which makes the links not very useful

If you enter e.g. https://farside.link/invidious into Privacy Redirect preferences, it stores only https://farside.link. -

A fixed list of instances that may or may not be up (the default)? One instance that you have observed to be reliable (this is what I was doing before)? Or a redirect service that brings you to an instance that is working right now (this is what twitit.gq does)? -
