     @Camel @schratze I believe that I have the right to choose what servers I connect to and what content I load onto my computer. Also, I believe that once I download content onto my computer, I have the right to edit it however I want to.

     No, they aren't. Calling adblockers a public offer is like calling shoplifting a public offer.

     @Camel @schratze I have no qualms about using and recommending ad-blockers. The people who used cookies and trackers to follow me around the Web and sell my data to companies I've never heard of, all without my consent, gave up all moral right to complain. They stole my private data from me. Now I'm opting out.

     Every system I administer, for myself or anyone else, has at least one ad-blocker. Go and do likewise.

     Advertising is immoral.
     The idea of pushing information by throwing money at it is immoral. It is a form of corruption. Valuable information flows by itself, without sponsors, ads, product placements and all the other alternative forms of shitting-in-your-head.

     Unsure whether this is a "drug into anti-consumerism". Installing an adblocker merely feels like consuming the content you also would, before, but just with ads and tracking and its nasty side-effects removed. Wouldn't it be smarter and more sustainable to focus on content, providers, services that have better "funding" models than ads and tracking, even if that involves paying real money...? Still wonder whether we don't yet have an adblocker extension that turns your browser window fully black, with a huge logo in the middle stating "this page is funded by unethical business models - you do not want to be here"? 😉️
