I had no interest at all in seeing The Matrix: Resurrections, but now I hear it's actually a movie about someone who created an iconic cultural artifact 20 years ago, has been trying to come out from under its shadow ever since, and is now forced to create a sequel because otherwise someone else will create a sequel anyway?
I kind of want to see this movie-shaped scream of anguish.

@wowaname @Moon I watched it the other week. They made it slightly more interesting than a retcon.
I went in with ultra low expectations and it wasn't anywhere near as good as the first film of course, and it had its wtf moments and preachy moments and come on not another forced reference moments, but it wasn't pointless and it wasn't useless and I genuinely enjoyed some of it.
It was too long but had some interesting ideas and some good lore.

@Moon @clacke so it's a huge retcon? nice

@clacke they're upset the right wing co-opted "the red pill" and they think making a shitty movie will reverse this somehow
