    German magazine "Der Spiegel" reports that one million people have died in Russia (population 143 million) due to Covid-19. https://www.spiegel.de/ausland/corona-tote-russland-bricht-traurigen-rekord-a-c5703d88-691d-4ec9-9745-3befb11e1161 (paywalled) Compare this to 800,000 deaths in the U.S. (population 329 million) and 109,000 deaths in Germany (population 83 million people). Gruesome.
