     In 2-4 years, his peers will be getting their own smartphones. I think something like this helps to delay the perceived need for a cellular phone, and by delaying the day of him carrying a screen with him, this kind of device might help him be more comfortable speaking with people and relating to them directly (instead of depending on various sites and apps moderation policies and enforcement).
