NYC is about 3000 square miles in area, and I've only walked around in an area about four miles long and a mile wide. That said, the thing I'm noticing most is that it is cramped and dingy. The skyscrapers look clean on the outside, but most other buildings seem to be dirty and stained. I haven't gotten close enough to one of the buildings to say whether the buildings are growing fungus, like they would in parts of Louisiana (in which case, it wouldn't be that the building's exterior is dirty, more that it has something growing in every crack and crevice.
