It has occurred to me that taking the shortcut of putting mRNA into human bodies (whether directly, as Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna do, or via a carrier virus, as Jannsen, Sputnik V, and AstraZenica appear to do) to product the viral spike proteins was probably not the way to do this long term.
Probably the best way is to insert this mRNA into specific bacteria and allow them to secrete the protein ... which can be collected and purified and then injected like a regular vaccine.
A good share of the vaccine fear I've seen posted is based on the mRNA. (Second only to the unprecedented accelerated schedule.)

Part of the accelerated schedule comes from the nature of government work. For practically anything that has a government approval step, there are months where nothing seems to be happening.
They can speed things up quite a bit by making sure that waiting stages only last as long as necessary.
The part about lacking longer term safety studies is still a concern--and should be a concern for everyone who considers vaccination, whether they eventually receive the vaccine or they reject it.
