      A Portland transgender woman said she and her friends were victims of an alleged hate crime. "My whole body hurt, like honestly, it felt like I had gotten hit by a truck," said Atlas, one of the women who says she was attacked. She says she and her friend approached a group of men for a cigarette near the food carts off in the 300 block of West Burnside Street at around 2:30 a. m. on September 12. Atlas claims one of the men started to target her.
