  @jrm Many ppl saw the Amiga as a successor to the C64, but IMO the Amiga has more in common w/ a UNIX workstation than with the C64

  I have an !Amiga 500 in the basement; picked it up for $10 at a thrift store — Never turned it on; needs a power supply and video cables. And a boot disk.

  @bobjonkman you'd also need a monitor that's able to display the A500's video modes, or a tv modulator for ntsc or pal to connect a tv

  @bobjonkman you should have a look at the bottom expansion compartment,there's usually a NiCd battery causing corrosion on the expansion bd

  @bobjonkman and I don't know if the stuff leaking from NiCd batteries contains cadmium. Would be very toxic in that case
