If you go at least fifteen or twenty times, avoiding the most crowded times, it becomes a winning proposition. But going once per year during a school break, it is nowhere near worthwhile. -

I remember The Pike in Long Beach #SoCal. That area became rather seedy and family-unfriendly before the park closed.
