The problem is the app was usable with other instances so killing the app hurts people on instances like this.
I’m getting tired of these purity tests and litmus tests.

  I that's the one I'm thinking of, they closed it because their usage levels were too low (because they announced that they were indexing the public posts of the app's users by default [opt-out])
