@andstatus @thefaico Thank you very much, but right now I don't remember what it was... Just the feeling that nothing was making any sense... But it can be because my new arrival to AndStatus. I will go on using AS. If the chaos continues and I don't find a solution at your FAK -ji, ji...- I'll contact you. Greetings! Thanks for your link!
@aldobelus When you click on a Notification, #AndStatus opens Notification timeline at the last position that you viewed. This is by design. You need to scroll up to see newer activities. As I see "Collapse duplicates" feature often hides several duplicated posts (activities) under one post, so if another duplicate was received, you see a Notification, but at a first glance it looks like no new activities were loaded. I will think, how to improve this... Maybe highlight new activities somehow...
@aldobelus I just thought that maybe when you click on a Notification, some new, special timeline should be opened called "New notifications", which would contain only activities that you didn't see before (as the application thinks...), and nothing more?! That timeline won't be refreshed automatically in order not to forget activities that were "new" seconds ago, but aren't new now as they have been shown to you already. ?!
@aldobelus If you have accounts in several fediverse instances/servers, you may receive the same activities via different servers. I see that this always happen for mentions/replies and reblogs. Look at the attached screenshot: I received the same replies and reblogs via two servers: loadaverage.org and gnusocial.no ("Collapse duplicates" checkbox is off) @colegotahttps://loadaverage.org/attachment/4707853
@aldobelus @colegota I monitored my Notifications in #AndStatus for some days, and today I thought that I found a bug: I saw "2 mentions", but Notifications timeline didn't show me anything that I didn't see in the morning. I searched in logs for "NewNotification" and found out that in this case the two mentions were expected: 4 days ago I was mentioned by some user at mastodon.social, but only today I got two copies of the same note/mention: from mstdn.io and from loadaverage.org. Naturally these two new mentions were collapsed with that 4 days old mention, and this is why I didn't notice them...
@aldobelus I'm testing "Unread notifications" timeline. It's sorted by time of activities download, not by their creation time (as all other timelines), so it's easy to see, what's new. @colegotahttps://loadaverage.org/attachment/4796262
@aldobelus I just added the "Unread notifications" timeline, sorted by the time of download ("received ... minutes ago"), so it is easy to see new activities. Moreover, the Timeline has "Mark all as read" button to explicitly instruct #AndStatus to not notify about all currently shown activities anymore. This will solve both problems that you mentions. @colegotahttps://loadaverage.org/attachment/4800772
@aldobelus I didn't make any specific changes to notify multiple times. Actually, I didn't test recently, how notification sounds work in #AndStatus. Will do this, thank you for noticing.
