"It seems to happen with folders that return around 400,000 files. Less than that seems to be handled consistently" Any thoughts from Windows people on this?

2016 and 10 work properly. 2012 R2 DataCenter has the issue.

  I suspect he means that a repo has that many files in it, although that's clearly not what he said. I should clarify. Maybe that's a clue.
