@noyoushutthefuckupdad @theoutrider @efi I can't believe I just spend considerable time trying to find proof of a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_tit#/media/File:Great_tit_side-on.jpg on SSB.
Nope, it's entirely ornithologically deprived.

@efi @theoutrider gogs/gitea, gitolite, gitano, pagure, gitlab, phabricator ... and of course my personal favorite git-ssb.
If you're looking for an alternative to not just github, but git altogether, there isn't a whole lot. Trac has an hg plugin, there's kallithea that supports hg, fossil supports itself. Launchpad for bzr is free software, but I'm assuming setting one up for oneself is a huge undertaking.

@efi @theoutrider You can use Mercurial as a human-friendly git front-end, I hear. Or maybe try http://gitless.com/ ?
-
@efi @theoutrider Ok. Bzr is supposed to work as a git frontend too.
-
@theoutrider @efi Yeah. Basically the problem with git is the accidental complexity. The usability, the inconsistent UI. Gitless is intended to fix that, and Hg is supposed to be superior in this area. If you want to get rid of essential complexity by losing functionality, maybe try subversion.

(jk, i can absolutely believe it)
