   We're coming to the end of the second decade of the 21st century and to the middle of the third decade of the internet being a going concern in the life of the average person.

   On average, people spend more than three hours a day on the internet.

   The claim that internet-based activism is invalid and that "you have to go into the real world to make a difference" has never been more wrong, and at this point making it reveals that you're deeply out of touch.

     I think what I mean is, the statement has moved status from "Yeah, you're right, unless ..." to "That's not actually true, except when it is.".
