     @mcscx our first pc at home was a dual booting 286 with DOS and Xenix and turbo speed of 6Mhz or maybe 8, not sure :-)

     @ghostdancer my #Altos won't power up with the console CRT connected. That's why I'm looking out for people who know that system.

     @harmlessgryphon well, at least the fans & harddisk spin up, but there's no activity noise from the hard disk. May be faulty PSU.

     @harmlessgryphon yeah but b/c of fans and HD not turning on with the terminal connected I expect a PSU fault or a shortcut in the terminal

     @harmlessgryphon it's the original Altos terminal. Btw. the whole system broke 10 yrs ago and went into the current state.

     @harmlessgryphon but I will now try and connect the terminal to the CPU's "RS232 Port2". Maybe connecting it to the CRT connector was wrong.

     @harmlessgryphon R232 Port1 seems not to be powered. Fans and HDD turn on but no real system startup. The CRT doesn't turn on.

     @mcscx that's a beauty,let's hope you can fix it. The only 80186 cpus i have seen were in controller cards, SCSI i think.
