Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 07:40:32 UTC Hallå Kitteh it is current year where is my free stuff and jetpacks -
Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 07:41:46 UTC Hallå Kitteh Hmm, hey, I can probably do a #Riot video call even with a guest user maybe? -
Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 07:43:27 UTC Hallå Kitteh @tumocs Maybe I'm just blocking JS and third-party resources, I don't know. In that case, the error message could have been a bit more descriptive. https://social.heldscal.la/attachment/1271958 -
Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 07:44:14 UTC Hallå Kitteh @tumocs Good (further) incentive to get my own NextCloud instance though. -
Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 07:45:20 UTC Hallå Kitteh @tumocs Ah yes, opened up jitsi.net in uMatrix and now things are happening.
I stand by the statement about that error message. -

Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 07:48:04 UTC Hallå Kitteh Let's see if I can lower video quality. My fan started running. :-D -
Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 07:50:30 UTC Hallå Kitteh Nope, only for incoming video. Trying if a smaller window might work as a silly solution, but it doesn't seem that way. -
Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 08:03:31 UTC Hallå Kitteh Problem: Firefox uses > 100% of one core for Jitsi Meet video.
Solution: Use Chrome and save ~60% of CPU. -

Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 09:10:30 UTC Hallå Kitteh My network was so wonky today that we ended up doing a PSTN call.
Tried Jitsi Meet, then Telegram on the phone, and then just ok, let's go with the 90s technology that Just Works. -
Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 09:13:19 UTC Hallå Kitteh @xeno Doesn't look like free software, but handy to know about in a pinch, thanks!
Meet Jitsi was working just fine though, it's just my flaky fiber. -
Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 23:40:01 UTC Hallå Kitteh @xeno Yeah, I'm supposed to have 300 Mbps, but you don't have to be too jealous. I seldom get more than 300 kB/s toward Sweden, and yesterday when talking to my friend three buildings away, we couldn't even get decent audio. -
Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Thursday, 01-Feb-2018 23:41:00 UTC Hallå Kitteh @jordigh Ah yes, appear, not arrive. :-)
They have spiced it up in the last few years, last time I tried it, it was more of a proof of concept.
Still not free software, though.
