Let us take a moment to appreaciate that #podcasts use #rss instead of forcing us to download a closed source client by some tech giant.

Hallå Kitteh (clacke@social.heldscal.la)'s status on Friday, 26-Jan-2018 06:26:36 UTC Hallå Kitteh @grainloom Let us lament for a moment that:
1) people don't know what a podcast is and often call something a podcast even though it doesn't have an RSS or Atom feed and can only be reached through e.g. Soundcloud
2) even the ones that do have a proper podcasty RSS feed often make it very hard to find it without resorting to an iTunes search, their web page not having a rel=alternate and any helpful badge links only leading to Stitcher etc
... and then take another moment and appreciate again that there are still a whole bunch of podcasts that actually do know what it's about, provide a badge and a rel=alternate and everything, and even offer Vorbis and Opus feeds!
(and then lament again that my stupid faux-free phone OS doesn't support Opus) -

If it doesn't have a standardized feed that can be picked up by a free software podcatcher, it ain't a podcast. That means RSS or Atom with the proper enclosure thingies.
Likewise, if a "blog" doesn't have a standardized feed that can be picked up by a free software aggregator, it ain't a blog. That means RSS or Atom. -
