@cypnk May I show you an #obscure & #ancient (70s?) device, featuring a 16char 16segment alphanumeric red #LED display http://qttr.at/20n3

@harmlessgryphon @cypnk alphanumeric LEDs are adorable! Unfortunately this Nixdorf LK-3000 thing doesn't work without a cartridge.
-
@harmlessgryphon I got it for ~3€ from a flea market 20yrs ago. I only today learned what it is. Always thought it's some industry thing
-
@harmlessgryphon yeah, but it doesn't even turn on w/o cartridge… but as @cypnk mentioned #obscure & #ancient I thought it's a good example

@cypnk Masto blocks Sealion— not without reason: many right-wing accts there. Probably you still have a link to open posts/thread on Quitter
-
@deutrino but I guess you can click somewhere at a not-disappeared post from some other involved instance and open the thread there @cypnk
-
@cypnk It's a calculator|translator device,not sth to write texts :) I played around with it, removing the dust. Anyway it's historic, ~1978
-
@cypnk I wonder if it was in use for many years… the cartridge is missing… an almost unheard-of model so maybe not as awesome as it looks

@harmlessgryphon agreed. I once had a Timeband LED wristwatch w/alphanumeric LEDs chars. It could display "Mo", "We", "Th". Beauty! @cypnk
