@dvl how about just 2 simple crontab lines:
0 0 9 * * myscript
0 0 23 * * myscript
-
@dvl GNU cron has */2, meaning "every two (weeks)" but it may be a GNU extension, and probably you know that already as you asked for FreeBSD
-
@dvl you could also try to specify "the Friday in the 2nd week of the month"
0 0 8-14 * 5 myscript
-
@dvl I know… I just thought you might want your (backup?) job to be executed on Fridays instead of in the middle of a week.
-
@kurtm oops, you may be right, as there is no "week" column in crontab. Just day-of-week and month. So */2 probably can't be used. @dvl
