@ntk @nds We got ours from overstock.com if memory serves.
-
@ntk @nds Yes. #spoiler It actually was a good deal.

@ntk @nds We got a memory foam type along with the frame on overstock. We bought a foam mattress for ourselves from Woot which has been excellent, and much cheaper than a Casper. Though they're very good too, from what I've seen.

@ntk Sorry, not sure what you mean by that. Woot is always a closeout kind of thing.

@ntk (1/2) I did research online before pulling the trigger. And really, how different are they going to be? It's not like they're cobbling these things in the back of their stores. They probably share a couple manufacturers.

@ntk (2/2) The car dealer thing is very apt. (Feakonomics did a good episode on this, by the by) You see these stores (Sleepy's is big in my area) with maybe one or two other couples shopping for a bed when you enter one. The overhead of these storefronts is outrageous. How do they pay for it? They need stupid high markups to pay for them (and the staff). Additionally making money via financing is a no-brainer for them, just like cars. When it comes to where a car lot makes its money, the lot itself is something like number five on the list. "Finance" is where it's at.
FWIW, I've purchased a mattress from Sleepy's. Few thousand dollars. How was the quality compared to this one? (~$300, I believe). Slightly better.

@ntk The majority of Americans have yet to understand that if you can't pay for it out of pocket, you can't afford it. (Which keeps the poor poor [Which is totally every one else's fault.].)

@ntk Bingo. Yes. sounds like prostitutes, no?

@ntk @commentsection That's the one.
