Ska stabilisera det först, sedan vore det skitkul att bo där i vinter och smälta snö för att ha vatten att dricka!

I'm going to buy this house! Woop! https://social.umeahackerspace.se/attachment/198152

A quarter of the concrete foundation is falling or has already fallen, and it's out in the middle of nowhere. No municipal water source or sewer system connected. #offgrid

@solderpunk This one is out for 24000 SEK (I honestly don't think it's worth haggling about that!) with 1300m² land area included.
This house is not too far away from civilisation, I actually went there by bike over the weekend to check it out (hence the picture). Depending on the route (bridges are a bit off...) it's between 110km and 130km from where I live, so with fika stop and all it's less than 7 hours by bike in the summer (~1.5h with car).
The ones youre friend has talked about are probably even further from civilisation. Most of them are so cheap because they're not cared for and thus either ready to fall, generally (water) damaged or full of mold. And there's of course a cost in demolishing a building properly...

@theru Not yet but it will be. It seems Vindeln municipality hasn't put their network on http://fiberkartan.se/ but I know that Åmsele (which is just across the river) is fiber-enabled!

@solderpunk I will keep it as a "fritidshus" (think vacation home) because otherwise I would probably have to connect it to municipal water and sewage, which is likely to cost at least 5 times the house.
And even if I don't classify it as my home - and I would stay in it as a fritidshus only - I am required by local regulations to have a waste disposal contract. So I can't just (legally) dig a hole in the ground and poop in it as a costless solution.
-
@solderpunk Well, I can have that but I would still need to have an agreement with the sewage company. Fortunately I can make it so it's just every second year they come by...
-
@solderpunk There's a well on the property already, which is cool. I still probably want a separate water tank - also I need to check how clean that well water is.
Regarding solar power I'm pondering the idea of having solar panels that feed back into the grid (it _is_ electrically connected). It could even generate money that way, as I will likely not use much electricity at all for my MASSIVE SERVER FARM.

@solderpunk There's even 4G connectivity there. I don't think I got full bars, but definitely an internet connection. But I don't want to have to rely on wireless technology anyway.
And no, we get very few hours of sunlight during the winter and only on days that there are no clouds or snow of course.

Followup: contract has been signed, delivered to me and paid for. Now to send it off to Lantmäteriet for a proper owner change in the name of NATION STATE LAW to get a 100% trustworthy* way to prove ownership.

@oemplojerad Men jag tänker mig åtminstone någon gång per månad att jag far upp dit och fixar och donar! Sedan kanske jag blir arbetsfri någon gång och kan leva loppan i glesbygd!
