     @kitredgrave @eris Getting big names in a movie just to artificially inflate its popularity is a shit phenomenon, and yet who is in a movie still works as a decent proxy for "this is the type of movie I'd probably enjoy". Some actors do choose their scripts well, some make any role shine and some producers just consistently make awesome stuff.
     
     Don't tell me you don't know who Miyazaki is.

     @andlabs @eris @kitredgrave Until a few weeks ago, the stupidly notable Hans Zimmer was unknown to my sister. Her kids took her to a concert, now she knows.
     
     They're very good kids.

     @eris @kitredgrave Example: I would have zero interest for the Valerian movie if it wasn't Luc Besson who made it, and if I didn't know that he has wanted to do it since he was a kid, and that it was a big inspiration for the Fifth Element.

     @lnxw48a1 @eris @kitredgrave Culkin hasn't really done anything of note except those two and the "Black or White" video. I think I just recognize his name because it's an odd name and the first movie was ridiculously popular.
