   1) There's this tether of support money from Patreon to Gargron and the community's got all this apprehension about forking the project because they won't get The Official Money to the Official Developer. Or they don't want to be the "bad guy" for fractionalizing.

   If the development process doesn't improve, abandon it. -You- the community can fire the development staff. They work for you.

   It's okay to fork. I'd do it if I weren't such a divisive figure.

     3) Instance managers should absolutely be held to a higher standard than other users. A manager accepts responsibility to take care of users and intercede on their behalf and keep the software in a good state and keep them informed on management decisions.

     If you need help managing your instance, get help. Appoint some co-moderators. Take a few days off.

     But if you can't do the job, you should quit. No excuses. Your excuses won't matter when people get hurt.
