On a !windows pc in a workgroup environment: How can I find out the account a user is using on the Windows/Samba server? (From the PC side)
-
@mastodontips That will return the local hostname& accountname. But I'm looking for the account that's used for a Windows fileserver session
-
@mastodontips thx again, but I sometimes need to find out session details (at least username) _from the PC side_. But there seams no easy way
-
@mastodontips "net session" only show connections with the local machine being the server-side.
-
@mastodontips : @zorak's tip control panel -> credential manager looks promising.
-
@zorak it says "no stored login credentials" (in DE).Reason could be: the user has an acct with same name/pw on the other pc. @mastodontips
-
@zorak Those were someone else's computers. I just thought there must be a command to find out such session info from the client side
-
@zorak I don't think it was "guest" because that's afaik disabled nowadays in Windows 7. And you could see shares AND the files in the share
