I'm not saying that physical law is irrelevant. Obviously, the universe is wholly physical. However, if you want to predict how someone will react to a poem, you don't do so by modeling individual ions in their brain. You use the model that has an appropriate level of abstraction. Otherwise, you are making things harder for yourself.
