On a much more boring technical note, Mastodon's current implementation of ostatus isn't even accurate to the spec. Before the new user explosion, we were running up GNU Social and postActiv server error logs into the tens of gigabytes with malformed message errors, from messages Mastodon servers sent.

I know Gargron isn't on the best of terms with many GS people, but if community volunteers would step up and look at these issues, it'd make all of us better citizens of the Fediverse.
