@dtluna Serious question: Should I bother learning tkinter at this stage? Python is only a few months old in my mind, but I'm finding it intuitive and very useful. I'm mostly playing with NLTK and writing little command line utilities now, but I have a couple of things in mind that would benefit from a GUI.
It's not that tkinter is difficult in any way, but a lot of people seem to advise in favor of other alternatives. I'm not sure if this is merely a reaction to previous versions. I like PyQt, but that's largely due to Qt Designer.
So I solicit your opinion, as my motivation to learn tkinter beyond the basics is lacking only as it seems a potentially unnecessary diversion if I'm going to end up dropping in favor of something else.

PyQt5 is better than tkinter.
