Here is another example of RMS being 100% right about a thing. https://gs.smuglo.li/attachment/353148

@nepfag RMS does have a point here. Calling them "people of color" is literally just a different way of calling them colored people. Which at one point in time was considered even more offensive than calling them niggers.

@dolus @nepfag > Your mom converted to Islam?
Yes. After one of her friends converted too. But you know,
> women
She still keeps a pyramid in the kitchen that should clean energetic space, reads astrological newspaper, believes that my swearing dirties people genome and such things.
As for me, I wasn’t a good christian, I am not a proper muslim, I just live my life in accordance with my morals. I never insist on retrieving debts, spend a bit of my wage to nursery services and orphanages. I am not an atheist, I just believe, that our world was left to its own or is a beta version that should be wiped anyway. It has its issues but more or less regulates itself to prevent ceasing to exist and that’s good enough. I believe that even if my conscience somehow stays after death, it won’t be me typing this right now. https://gs.smuglo.li/attachment/353229

@tijagi @nepfag Qur'an comes from an Aramaic word meaning 'recitation'. It's Islam means submission. I say emulating Muhammad causes problems because he did things that are not compatible with western civilization. He was a slaver, not just a slave owner; he killed people who spoke out against him; even poets who wrote satire. Sound familiar?
I agree that people should be judged case-by-case, but religions and the men behind them are also up for scrutiny.

"believes that my swearing dirties people genome"
I don't know why but somehow that particular fragments may be the most hilarious innocent religious misconception I've heard about.
