#TIL (I guess) that it became no longer practised in speaking the German language to trill the 'r' sound because Hitler had a tendency to do so. Could have sworn that it was phased out of spoken German west of Prussia long before that but hey.

@awl West of Prussia isn't the right distinction -- Hitler was Austrian. Danish acquired guttural "r" from northern German before Hitler.
