   I'm slowly migrating away from #Pidgin towards !Gajim as my preferred !XMPP client. But Pidgin was my #IRC client too - anyone have suggestions? I've used #XChat, and found it impossible.

     @bobjonkman what do you find impossible about #XChat? There may be more now but for years it was the *only* (desktop) IRC client that actually implemented all the standards. I've been using it for many, many years, both on Windows and on Linux. (I found #Pidgin did not even come close.)

     @bobjonkman Any client + the bouncer 'znc'. Or, my preferred solution, screen/dtach + irssi. Some prefer weechat over irssi.
