@adfeno that's above my knowledge :-) I have never heard about reply paths and query paths, to be honest :-) @kzimmermann

@kzimmermann When you try !Freenet check out their microblogging #Sone.Info:it takes 1-2 weeks for other identities to appear to you @adfeno
-
@adfeno sry, I dont understand "FreeNet disallows communication shortcut unless taken initially". Could you rephrase that? @kzimmermann
-
@kzimmermann there are 2 Freenet modes: opennet (your node connects "randomly" to other nodes) and "darknet" (you have a permanent… @adfeno
-
@kzimmermann … connection to nodes of real live friends nodes). Most people use the opennet mode , not the "darknet" mode. @adfeno
-
@kzimmermann Freenet is a distributed file storage w/ data blocks being stored encrypted on people's nodes, w/ some redundancy.
-
@kzimmermann so encrypted blocks of other peoples files will be stored on your node, but you won't find out who stored them
-
@kzimmermann on top of that level are some services, like creating and browsing web sites (freesites), forums and microblogging, and others
-
@kzimmermann afaik Sone (microblogging) and some forum system use WoT (each their own method) for the user identities.
-
@kzimmermann you can setup a !Freenet node, create & browse freesites, create Sone & Forum accts, w/o knowing anybody or registering anywhere
-
@kzimmermann !Freenet is definitely worth a try. It's "a very different place" and some parts need patience, but it works.

@adfeno I don't know GNUnet and if it's comparable to Freenet. GNUnet is probably more 'modern'. Freenet was founded in 2000 :) @kzimmermann
