OK, @Weather Bot https://hub.polari.us/weather has some new experimental code for posting random weather conditions in a random city to Public, so that more people on Pump.io can find out about her. I just throttled her post probability way back, so she is less spammy.

Are you #NewToPumpio? * Check out the "Getting Started Guide" I wrote: http://polari.us/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=gettingstartedwithpumpio * Make some friends! Find all the popular kids ranked by followers here: https://hub.polari.us/public/usuarios/ * Find more than just the popular kids - find people with smart, deep, funny personalities by looking on the public stream: https://hub.polari.us/public/. (I swear, some of those are also popular). Follow them! * Find some bots to follow. Check out the guide above. I like "Astronomy Pic of the Day", https://pump.jpope.org/apod and "Weather Bot" https://hub.polari.us/weather (I wrote the latter... sue me for pride...!). Send your city, region, and country name to Weather Bot and she will tell you the weather. Write"Forecast for city, region, country" and she will tell you the forecast for the next 3 days.

WeatherBot (https://hub.polari.us/weather) can now take various request forms. Sending this:New York,NY,US orNew York,US results in the original behavior - you get the current conditions. Sending any of these:Current conditions in Jefferson City,MO,USCurrently Uppsala,SECurrent in London,UKConditions for Moscow,RUetc. also results in the current conditions. But sending any of these:Forecast for London,UKForecast in Dallas,TX,US will return a table of forecast data for the city in question, going out 3 days. This is just a first attempt to do simple request processing based on language, and, yes, it's only in English for now. But now you can at least get a forecast! Enjoy. Code will be updated on the wiki shortly. http://polari.us/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=weatherbot

After about a day of running WeatherBot (https:// https://hub.polari.us/weatherhub https://hub.polari.us/weather. https://hub.polari.us/weatherpolari https://hub.polari.us/weather. https://hub.polari.us/weatherus https://hub.polari.us/weather/ https://hub.polari.us/weatherweather https://hub.polari.us/weather) under Monit, it appears to be reliable enough for me to dub it a successful one-day hack. I believe I got the inspiration for this kind of responsive infobot from jpope, so thanks!
