Side-by-side comparison of images from a ground based telescope and the Hubble Space Telescope. The images are black and white. Hubble's image is a bit more crisp than the ground based image, but not nearly as much as was expected.

    Speaking of, the Hubble Space Telescope sent its first image back to Earth #OTD in 1990.

    Folks knew right away that something was wrong with the optics, but the problem was eventually corrected.
