The central core of Hubble’s image of NGC 7496 is very small compared to the rest of the galaxy. This central region starts as a bright white dot that melts into bright pinks and blues. They flow into yellower areas, some covered in dark brown dust lanes that form an arc that looks like a thin, backward S. This is the galaxy’s bar structure which connects into two of the face-on spiral galaxy’s arms. The majority of the image shows dark brown dust lanes and bright blue star clusters, forming irregular, diffuse arcs that flow counterclockwise. There are darker orange dots of various sizes throughout. The bottom right edge is a black triangle, reflecting where there is no data.
