26. Barrier of the book. Here, the corridor widens to 20’, and at the end of it is a massive portal that is shaped like a closed book, a massive replica of the book of Anapho. Opening the book within sight of the door now reveals that there are images on each page, and the massive book portal opens as well, disgorging whatever is revealed on the page. Roll a d6 for each page randomly flipped to; each entry appears only once: 1. The portal disgorges an Ogre. The shrinking technique of room 1 will work on it. 2. The portal disgorges a Ghast. It may be repelled back into the book via dancing. 3. The portal disgorges a Displacer Beast, a Monstrosity. 4. The portal disgorges a Helmed Horror, a Construct. 5. The portal disgorges a trio of Magma Mephits. 6. The page shows a black hole, and the book portal is now an open passage, leading onward to the next room.
