A reprocessed version of Voyager 1’s iconic Pale Blue Dot photo. The background is lighter than the original, almost glowing from below. The “sunbeam” in which the Earth hangs, caused by an optical artifact in the original, is still present.

    A few years go JPL engineer @kevinmgill, with input from Candy Hansen and William Kosmann, used modern techniques to process the original image data and produce a new version of the iconic photo.
