@ieure Right, right. I remember I was active on H2G2 as well as some forums hosted on friends' personal linux servers. Parents gave me so many lectures on how perverts would kidnap me and I couldn't trust anyone online. Turned out (and of course this varies) I couldn't trust anyone in real life, and the internet people were p cool.

The server with friends from school thing actually felt pretty safe, in retrospect--I wonder if kids are doing that these days. Maybe with Discord or something?

@ieure like seriously what do you do when your kid is like "hey dad check out this funny train meme" and you have to talk about evaluating sources, who are tankies anyway, what was the holodomor, etc etc
